2021’s “Best Pikler Triangle Overall”
Sometimes siblings are in sync…
➡️➡️➡️
Sometimes they each need their own way to play.
The Triangle + Extension was made with sibling dynamics in mind – with enough space and versatility to accommodate individual preferences and also encourage connection.

⬆️⬆️ The reason we don’t like to give a ‘minimum recommended age’ for climbers is because climbing is not the only option.
It can double as a baby gym, a sturdy frame for epic fort building, “pull to stand” practice, and more.

I’m definitely biased but….
The Extension is an absolute game changer. It allows them more opportunities to climb and play *together*. It has introduced new challenges for physically-oriented kids who are pretty darn good climbers. It has unlocked an entire world of play opportunities (mega slides, bunkbed fort, giant ladder, and on and on).
Standard climbing Triangles are amazing for so many things. But it really pays off to have somewhere to go from there. To have something to build on….
Pun intended.
#piklertriangle #toddlerlife #toddleractivities #twintoddlers #woodentoys #smallbusiness

Every time our daughter goes against expectations – whether she’s coloring a tree blue or wearing her pants backwards – she likes to say out loud, “it’s just a little different!”
And we’d like you to know, that in a sea of Pikler Triangle sameness, our climber is just a little different.
No, it doesn’t hinge fold (gasp!), because that inhibits versatility. You can take it apart for storage in less than 10 seconds, though you probably won’t get a chance to store it often, considering all the fun you’ll be having with the adjustable angles, reversible slides, and optional Extension.
🚸Does your child have any idiosyncrasies you adore?

Are climbing triangles…boring? 😮
Every so often I’ll see the question asked in a parenting group: “are climbers worth i?” And someone always responds: “meh. My kids got bored in a week.”
My gut reaction is, “howwwww?!?!” But I actually think I know what’s going on with these types of commenters.
☁️ Their Triangle is too small. Some of the major retailers have multiple sizes of the same climber. This may allow you to purchase at a lower price point, but make sure to weigh cost vs. longevity.
☁️ Too much going on. Five different slide varieties, a clip on art easel, and a fold down desk on a climber might be overwhelming. Limit or rotate accessories.
☁️ Their climber is static. It stays at the same angle, the same shape, in the same place in the same room day after day.
☁️ The parent is too involved. Hovering out of fear, over instructing, or setting up so many complex games and activities that the kids rely on the parent for ideas or internalize their worry.
☁️ It’s not their thing. Does your kid enjoy the playground? How do you engage with other open ended play items from blocks to play couches? As versatile as climbers are, they aren’t for everyone!
Let me know ⬇️ if this was helpful or other questions you have about choosing a climber.

I’m kind of stunned….
that there aren’t more comments like this on a Reel that includes video of 3-year-olds climbing an 8 ft. ladder. 😆
Because I totally get it, and would have had the same anxieties once upon a time.
So here’s the deal: the climber? Safe. The way we use it? Safe for US.
One of the great things about a modular climber is that you get to decide which way you want to use it that feels safe for you based on:
🧗♀️ your child’s age
🧗♀️ your child’s stage (developmentally; skills wise, physical awareness, etc.)
🧗♀️your environment (piles of play couch cushions vs. a thin mat, adult supervising with full attention vs. one eye on the climber and the other on your zoom meeting)
🧗♀️ your personal risk tolerance
Check out our Reels and previous posts to see a multitude of ways to play – for the nervous nellies, the wild child, and everyone in between!
(p.s. handle and comments are always fictional, but based on real inquiries)

I get asked a lot about recommended age ranges…
Particularly, parents want to know, “how long is my kid gonna use this thing for anyway?”
My answer is usually something very intelligent like “ummm, errr it depends.”
So I figured I’d let you hear from the experts on how the fun of ROAM climbers holds up beyond toddlerhood.

Let’s talk play couches…
As far as I’m concerned, wooden climbers and play couches go together like peanut butter and jelly.
We use our play couch as a crash pad, a slide, a bolster, a landing pit, and extra building materials for forts, and more.
Swipe through (and check out our Stories) for some of our favorite couch+climber combinations.
The play couch you see in our family’s content is a @figgyplay. We chose Figgy because of the velcro connection system that allows the four cushion panels to be separated and used individually or velcro-d together any way you like. Versatility is the goal with ROAM climbers, and we wanted a play couch that was equally versatile.
Overwhelmed with trying to decide which play couch is right for your family? @playcouchbuilds is a wealth of info and ideas.
How about you? Do you have a play couch? Are you a converted play couch skeptic like me? 😆

We could only pick one raffle winner, but we couldn’t let your generosity go unacknowledged.
So here’s a gift for the rest of you: 20% of all Triangles and Extensions with the code on the final slide.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

There’s a mother in Pennsylvania who is in need of a stroller. And diapers. And lotion. And all the baby things. Her due date is in 10 days…
When I get overwhelmed – with all the suffering in the world, with all the causes and organizations that deserve attention – i find it helpful to zoom way in. To focus first on directly helping one family or one individual. It feels like a small, manageable way to put some good into the world that hopefully has a ripple effect.
So rather than a “10k follower giveaway,” we are hosting a raffle of sorts, to benefit this mother who reached out to our friends @theblackfairygodmotherofficial for assistance.
Want to win a ROAM Triangle + Slide for you or someone else? Here’s how:
1.) make a donation of $2 (one entry), $4 (two entries) $8 (four entries) or more via the link in our bio or our Stories.
If you can give more, please do, but we are keeping barriers to entry low so everyone is able to participate, and capping entries at four per individual to prevent undue advantage.
2.) like this post and drop an emoji in the comments section to let us know you’ve donated.
That’s it. Please also share this post and give a follow to @theblackfairygodmotherofficial -an incredible 501(c)(3) helping to provide direct aid to help Black and Brown marginalized families.
Fundraiser/raffle ends Tuesday, March 1st at noon.

A staple in Montessori classrooms worldwide, the Pikler triangle is quickly gaining popularity as a family playroom must have – and for good reason. Caregivers love that this simple climbing structure gives kids the opportunity to develop coordination, strength, balance, and body awareness. Kids love that it’s fun.
With attentive adult supervision, The Triangle can be enjoyed by children as young as six months and as old as six years. Younger babies may enjoy laying underneath the triangle with toys suspended from the rungs or using it to pull to stand. Older babies and toddlers can climb up, over, and down; while older children can incorporate The Triangle into forts and imaginative play. This is a piece that grows with your child.
Easy to assemble and easy to store when not in use, The Triangle – like all Roam products – is hand crafted with safety and sustainability in mind.
Yes, that slide/ramp/bridge is as fun as it looks. Want one to go with your Triangle? Add it to your order.
Some assembly required (Don’t worry. If you can use a screwdriver, you can assemble The Triangle).
The Extension (optional)
Expand the possibilities for creative play with The Extension.
This versatile piece can be added on to the ROAM Triangle to allow for new ways to climb, hide, jump, swing, slide, and more.

Best Pikler Style Wooden Climber For Toddlers
The Best Pikler Triangle in San Diego
If you’re interested in the Montessori philosophy in regards to children’s education and development, then you’re going to love the Pikler triangle. Our Pikler ladder is handmade from high-quality wood and is safe for kids to enjoy. When you want to give your children a fun experience that hones their skills, you need the wooden Pikler triangle from Roam Creative Play. Here’s why our Pikler triangle can benefit your family.
Our Indoor Climbing Triangle Can Tire Out Your Toddler
Toddlers have an incredible amount of energy. While parks and playing outside can sometimes help them exert that energy, not all families have access to a park or have limited yards. This is when an indoor climbing triangle shines. Your playroom can quickly become the only place your toddler needs to play and release their energy.
Our adjustable Pikler triangle is perfect for babies, toddlers, and even those first few years of childhood. That’s because the adjustable Pikler triangle can be changed according to their needs. Does your baby love to reach up and play with toys? Then hang them off of the wooden triangle climber. Is your toddler starting to climb up on the furniture? Then the wooden climbing triangle can present them with a new challenge. Even older children love using the Pikler ladder in San Diego as part of their other equipment and toys.
Your children will likely never get enough of their climbing ladder for toddlers.
Benefits of Our Pikler Triangle from San Diego

All of our Pikler triangle products are handmade. That’s why they’re the best. We work with our local businesses throughout the area to find the best materials to create our wooden triangle climber. That means you can count on the Pikler triangle to last for years and remain sturdy. You don’t have to worry about our indoor climbing triangle when it comes to safety.
Since the Pikler triangle is made of wood instead of plastic, you also don’t have to worry about any toxins or pollutants being leached into your child when they play on it. Wood is all-natural and ours is carefully smoothed to avoid splinters.
We also make sure that our climbing ladder for toddlers can be easily assembled. We know how frustrating putting together a Pikler triangle can be. If your wooden Pikler triangle needs assembling, then you only need a screwdriver to do it. Don’t waste money by having to buy tools you’re only going to use once with other versions of the wooden triangle climber. You can simply assemble our Pikler ladder and not have to worry that it was assembled incorrectly.
Handmade Indoor Climbing Triangle For A Fun Playing Experience

The triangle is beautiful and well crafted. My 4 year old loves it. My 8 month old loves to crawl under it and has started to pull himself up on it. I’m looking forward to using it more in the cold winter months in MN. We also have the arch and slide which both boys love as well. All 3 pieces look so wonderful that it is easy to have them out in our living room.
Kellen (verified owner) –
Well built and super easy to put together. My daughter loves crawling on and through it. She’s getting more adventurous and this allows her to be curious in a safe way.
Sierra C. (verified owner) –
It’s love here! My 15 month old daughter loves her new pikler and slide! Even better that my older dd, who has a form of Muscular Dystrophy, is enjoying it as well! It has been a hit! I love the craftsmanship, simplicity, and versatility of this thing! So glad we went with Roam Creative Play! Def looking forward to purchasing accessories In the future. Thanks again!

We just picked up our triangle and ladder/slide yesterday. It was easy to set up and very well made! I have a 4 yr old and an 11month old. They have used it so much already today. My 4 yr old has been so creative with it. Using it as a fort, ramp for her trains/cars/balls, tunnel for her train tracks. Creates for SO much imagination and open ended play! Our 11month old loves to climb so this is great for her too, she has been exploring along side her big sis! So happy with the purchase not only because of the quality of the items but we have experienced great communication with the folks behind it all. Definitely recommend, look no further purchase from Roam Creative Play!
Kelly (verified owner) –
We got this for a short term rental, and it is a huge hit! My kids won’t stop playing on it. And it is so beautifully crafted. It was easy to put together, shipped in a timely manner. The owner has been quick to respond and so helpful. Roam Creative Play is the place to get your pikler triangle!
Jill –
Top quality! My kids love it so much – they are 2 and 4.
Amanda S. (verified owner) –
Fantastic quality. My 2.5 year old is still trying to get the hang of it. My one year old has tried climbing a couple steps by herself. It’s so well made and sturdy. We live in a townhome without a yard so this is a great way for them to get exercise when we can’t walk down to the park. Also added the rock wall slide to it and it’s been a hit. I paid extra for the delivery and it was worth it. I received my order quickly and it was brought to my door step unboxed and already set up. All I had to do was bring it in the house. I loved not having more boxes to deal with since I live in a community that sometimes ends up with full dumpsters by the end of the week.
Chuck (verified owner) –
Bought one a few months back. Quality is great, it has held up well to the kids playing with it pretty aggressively. Love the way it adjusts, the three sided triangles do not allow for as much creativity as this style.
Brittany (verified owner) –
Absolutely in love with the triangle, the quality is top notch! I plan to buy every single product! Our 11mo old loves it so much and I can’t wait to watch her grow with it!
Heather (verified owner) –
So pleased with this purchase! The quality is great and it was simple and straightforward to assemble. I especially love how the slide attachment is easy to move but sturdy when attached. My 16 month old daughter loves it too!
Nami (verified owner) –
Well made. Instruction was easy to understand and Also it is easy to assemble (like ikea! In a good way). But putting screws was hard for me.. It was too tight to put screws but eventually managed it.
And My 8 months old daughter loves it. Soon as we finished to make, She tries to stand up using triangle over and over again. It’s really sturdy so less worries for me.
Marta (verified owner) –
We absolutely love our triangle! We decided on Roam because we wanted to shop locally (located in San Diego), but the quality is top notch and it is definitely worth buying even if you have to get it shipped! The owners were very communicative throughout the construction and pickup, and I love that we were able to support a small local business!
Our daughter is 11 months and mostly uses the triangle to pull herself up on and crawl under, but it’s also serving as a cat jungle gym, so everyone in our house is enjoying it! It easily becomes a blanket fort or anything else you can imagine. Although it stays out most of the time, it is so easy to fold and hide away if we need the extra space.
If you are on the fence about ordering, do it! This product is the highest quality and will last you for years to come! The design is ascetically pleasing and fits in with any decor.
Jennifer (verified owner) –
Very well made, great quality, and easy to put together. I love how it adjusts and is the perfect size. Others I looked at were very small. My 1 year old loves this now and will be able to play with it for years to come. Owners are absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend!
Melody (verified owner) –
Super well crafted. Great communication from the company. Incredible value (these things are so expensive everywhere else). Love that the height is adjustable. My son is 13 months and just getting into climbing it. Previously he liked to crawl under or pull himself up using it.
Rachelle (verified owner) –
I am so glad I got this when I did. My daughter is 7 months old and all she wants to do is stand on this! It was easy to put together and well made and I am excited to try out the different configurations.
Kate R (verified owner) –
Quality just as described- we love it! The assembly was easy, the packaging was compact, and the communication was great for timing of shipping. My 12 mo is already climbing several levels at different angles. I love the versatility, and the compact design for storage! Would definitely recommend.
Kathleen Lambert (verified owner) –
Well constructed, sturdy, and good for multiple ages. It’s a hit with our boys who need to climb and burn energy.
Alex (verified owner) –
We got the triangle with extension after researching other brands and decided on Roam because of A. The extension, B. The ability to fold it and put away in our smaller living space, and C. The aesthetics were really nice.
The advertised lead time was accurate and when it came I was so excited I put it together myself, it was a little challenging at first but once I got the hang of it went super quickly. My 1.5 year old was even able to assist and by the time it was together he was so excited to get climbing.
It’s only been a few days and it’s already being utilized and played with. I’m really impressed by the craftsmanship, and can’t believe how many different configurations can be made including the extension.
So glad we decided on Roam, and my husband is too (he’s the more picky of us both.) We’ve ordered the arch and I am looking forward to getting a luxe tower as well!
Emma M –
Incredibly well made, easy to set up and take down. A beautiful piece that will grow with our child.
Marie (verified owner) –
Probably the best toy we have for my kids! Seriously! It’s so versatile and my 2.5 year old absolutely loves it. We got the triangle+extension+rock climber. My kiddo uses the rock climber as a slide and it’s perfect! Beautiful product and so we’ll made!
Diane –
We got this triangle and the extension plus the arch and the slides! Just the triangle portion is enough for some fun playtime! It’s so versatile I can’t get over it! It was easy to put together and it’s super durable. It stores away very nicely and easy to change configurations!
Oh and of course their customer service is amazing!! Highly recommend!
Allison –
We got this for my daughter when she was about 8 months old. She started pulling herself up on it and slowly began climbing even before she could walk. Now she’s nearly 2 and she climbs and slides like a pro. This is our go-to activity for long New England winters and it’s been really sweet to see the different ways my daughter uses it at different points in her development. This is a great price point for a quality product and they’ve been very friendly and responsive when I’ve had questions. Highly recommend.
Emily (verified owner) –
So pleased with this triangle. We live in a really small house with no place to keep this set up when not in use. I knew we needed something that could be folded and put away easily after every use. There are a few foldable options out there but we chose this one because of the THREE different angles. So many possibilities! Highly recommend.
Victoria Marmolejo (verified owner) –
Our son loves his triangle! We got it for him when he was 14 months and he is now 19 months and plays on it almost every day. We wish we would’ve gotten it for him sooner. His balance and confidence with climbing is amazing. We are local to San Diego county and being able to pick up and support local is probably our favorite part! Buy this you won’t regret it!
Emma (verified owner) –
We purchased a triangle and slide for our son just before his first birthday. It is the center piece of our playroom/living room. It’s a climber and a slide, a ramp for car races, a tent frame, and so much more.
The materials and construction are top notch and I love that it’s made locally by a small business. I can’t recommend this product and brand enough!
Nicola Carter (verified owner) –
I had always wanted a triangle for my older daughter when she was little. But with everything we *thought* we needed at the time, it felt like a luxury I couldn’t financially justify. And then by the time it was in our budget, I wrote it off as being too late. I discovered ROAM right before moving to San Diego, when my younger daughter was just a few months old, and I knew that this time around I wasn’t going to miss the opportunity. Plus I was so excited to get to support a family owned, local business. For my little ones first birthday we got a triangle, an arch, and a slide. And to my surprise my then 5 year old, the one I thought was too old for it years ago, got so much use out of it! They both love the pieces and use them in lots of different and creative ways. I was just notified that our extension is ready and I cant wait to expand all the fun my girls can have with these endlessly entertaining, beloved, beautifully crafted items that will last for years and years to come.
Briana (verified owner) –
Endless fun!! As soon as we unboxed our product I instantly could see the exquisite craftsmanship and you need design! I had been shopping and looking for a triangle for several months but couldn’t commit to such a big purchase unsure the quality. I followed @RoamCreativePlay on IG and learned about the time, detail, and amount of prototypes and growing pains this family went through to ensure the best and safest design! My 4yo and 16 month enjoy climbing and playing throughout the day! It’s also great for fort building! We purchased the triangle, extension and the ladder/slide to allow both kids the opportunity to enjoy! Thank you, making my quarantine parenting life much more tolerable !!
Emalie (verified owner) –
We LOVE our triangle and extension! My 2.5 year old has easily played with it every day since we got it for him at Christmas. We have tried a few different configurations and each one is a hit! He loves to climb and jump from the top. Sometimes I find him under it with pillows making his own fort. I love that there are endless options for the climber plus it has really helped us to survive the last few months with a new baby sister!
Karen (verified owner) –
We LOVE this climbing triangle. It’s set to a lower angle right now for our little, but we know it will continue to grow with her and we can keep adjusting it. We love that it’s locally made AND that you can easily take it apart (two easy knobs) to store out of the way. We’ve only had it a month and have already ordered the slide and extension to it for our kiddo’s next birthday!
Elizabeth (verified owner) –
I would trade all of the toys in our house for this single item. Absolutely beautiful, the cutest of all the Piklers on the market IMO. Very easy to set up or fold up. My 3 year old and 11 month old play with this on the daily. Lots of gross motor play and creativity. Company also has excellent customer service. So thankful to live in San Diego and pick this up as soon as it was available! Thank you ROAM!
Emily (verified owner) –
Excellent purchase! We have a 1 year old who loves to climb and this is the perfect space for him to practice safely! Even his big brother joins him in play! It’s been a climbing frame, a fort, a hiding spot. Very open ended. It was easy to assemble and the quality is excellent. Highly highly recommend!
